Labège
Labège is a municipality with 4019 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in southern France, the Région Midi -Pyrénées and in the Haute- Garonne.
Geography
The city is located at the crossing of the Camino de Santiago across the river Hers. It is located south-east of Toulouse and owned by the community association, founded in 2001 Sicoval to. Neighboring municipalities are Toulouse in the north, Saint -Orens -de- Ville Game in the east, Escalquens and Castanet- Tolosan in the south and Auzeville -Tolosane and Ramon Ville- Saint -Agne in the West.
History
During the Middle Ages Labège was a scattered settlement which was distributed throughout the municipal area. From the end of the Middle Ages, a community center has developed around the church. The first church was in 1232, built by Archpriest Caraman. Since 1960, numerous offices and laboratories are located in the area of " Labège Innopole " (north of the community core ).
Demographics
The current mayor since March 2008 Christian Lavigne ( Parti Socialiste ).
Infrastructure and economy
Labège has two railway stations on the railway line Bordeaux - Sète: Labège - Innopole and Labège -Village. These are served by trains of the TER Midi -Pyrénées.
In Labège the " École nationale supérieure des Ingénieurs en arts chimiques et technologiques " is ( ENSIACET ).
