Lagoa Santa, Goiás

Lagoa Santa is a Brazilian municipality in the state of Goiás in the mesoregion southern Goiás and in the micro-region Quirinópolis. It is located southwest of the Brazilian capital Brasília and the capital of the state, Goiânia. The municipality includes the town of Termas de Itajá.

Location

Lagoa Santa borders the following municipalities:

  • From northwest to southeast at Itajá
  • On the southwest by Paranaíba (MS )

The municipality is situated on the left bank of the river Rio Aporé, flowing from northwest to southeast and as a right tributary to the Rio Paranaíba, respectively its reservoir Ilha Solteira, opens.
