Laloubère

Laloubère is a commune in the Hautes -Pyrénées, in the Midi -Pyrenees. It is located in Tarbes district and capital of the canton Laloubère.

Laloubère has 1943 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) to 4.05 square kilometers and is located about 2.5 kilometers south of Tarbes in the Bigorre. Through the municipal area leads the Autoroute A64.

In the municipality of Laloubère is the Aerodrome Tarbes - Laloubère that as a civilian airfield (two runways with 825 meters, built in 1936 ), but is often used by parachutists. On the southwestern edge is the Racecourse ( Hippodrome, built in 1808, distance: 1800 meters). The highway cuts through the second large green area. Both are now used as a golf surfaces ( Golf de l'Hippodrome, and golf tumulus ).

History

In the 10th and 11th centuries, the town was still under Loupbatère out. The Château de Laloubère is classified as a monument historique.
