Landscapes is a founded in 2008, Melodic hardcore band from Somerset.
History
Landscapes were established in 2008 in Somerset, England and currently consists of Shaun Milton (vocals), Martin Hutton ( electric guitar ), Kai Sheldon ( electric guitar ), Nick (bass ) and Jordi (drums).
In May 2010, the release of the EP Reminiscence about Broken Night Records was. The debut album Life Gone Wrong was released in July 2012, initially about City of Gold Records, which is no longer commercially available. A reissue of the album took place in September 2013 on Pure Noise Records.
On August 4, 2012, the group played at the Hevy Music Festival in Kent, where the band on the Red Bull Bedroom Jam Stage was seen. On the same day iceberg and Brutality Will Prevail played. The appearance at the Hevy Music Festival was a part of the European tour of the bands The Carrier and All Teeth, in which Landscapes appeared as the opening act. The tour led by Germany, the Netherlands, Austria, Belgium, Italy and the United Kingdom.
Between 18 and February 23, 2013 Landscapes played as part of the Rock Sound Impericon Exposure Tour as the opening act for Stray from the Path and The Ghost Inside. The concert tour consisted of six appearances in the UK. From 9 to September 20, 2013 Landscapes played with In Hearts Wake a support tour for The Amity Affliction Europe. The concerts took place in Germany, Belgium, France, Austria, and the United Kingdom. End of January 2014 was seen as support for the band Defeater. The group played only the shows in Germany, Italy, Poland, Hungary, the Netherlands, Belgium and Switzerland. On this tour also played Caspian, More Than Life (UK only) and Goodtime Boys. Prior to this tour Landscapes played four headlining shows in Germany. These took place in Dresden, Bielefeld, Frankfurt and Göttingen.
On March 10, 2014, the group played as the opening act for Architects for their album release party for Lost Forever / / Lost Together in Brighton. On this show also play North Lane and Stray from the Path.
Style
Sebastian Berning of Powermetal.de describes the music of Landscapes as " sinister and melodic hardcore " and orders the band to groups like Dead Swans, More Than Life, The Carrier and Killing the Dream. The songs sound so Berning, " pretty desperate, gloomy and sad ." Nevertheless, the music is melodic and varied. Patrick Siegmann, editor at Stage Load, says that Landscapes not stand out through the reef, but by their emotion. The British magazine Rock Sound is of the opinion that Landscapes 've found the harmony between aggressiveness and emotion. The critic compares the sound of the group with groups from the post-rock genre. In an interview, Milton revealed that the texts of the group were written on a very personal basis.
