Langdon Park DLR station

Langdon Park is a station on the Docklands Light Railway (DLR ) in the London Borough London Borough of Tower Hamlets. It is located in the Travelcard Zone 2, between the Carmen Street and Hay Currie Street in the district of Poplar.

Since the configuration of the Docklands Light Railway mid-1980s, the subsequent construction of two additional stations was provided on the route between Poplar and Stratford. One of them was Carmen Street ( later to a neighboring school renamed in Langdon Park ), the other Pudding Mill Lane. The first projects for the station Langdon Park were presented in 2000, but then dropped again for lack of funds. In June 2005, the Docklands Light Railway Limited undertook a reassessment and received half a year later, the building permit. Construction began on 17 November 2006, the opening took place on December 9, 2007.

During the heyday of the Docklands was located about 150 meters to the north of South Bromley Station of the North London Railway. Opened on September 1, 1884 station had to be closed on May 15, 1944, when the route after numerous air raids by the German Luftwaffe had become impassable.
