Lasne ( Walloon Lane ) is a commune in the French-speaking province of Walloon Brabant in Belgium. It consists of the districts Couture -Saint -Germain, Lasne - Chapelle- Saint-Lambert Maransart, Ohain and Plancenoit.

The neighboring communities are Braine -l'Alleud, Waterloo, Rixensart, La Hulpe, Genappe and Ottignies -Louvain- la -Neuve.

Lasne has concluded with Abbeville in the U.S. and Azay le Rideau in France twinning.

History

The area now called Plancenoit was fought bitterly during the Battle of Waterloo between the French and Prussian troops. The conquest of the place enabled the Prussians finally to reach the center of the battlefield and beat the French to flight. In Plancenoit a Prussian monument was erected soon after.
