Laussa

Laussa is an Austrian municipality with 1272 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in the district of Steyr-Land in Upper Austria. The church was originally part of the judicial district Weyer, since 1 January 2014, the community is part of the judicial district of Steyr.

Geography

Laussa located in Traun quarter. The expansion is 9.9 kilometers from north to south, from west to east 6.7 km. 36.4 % of the area is forested, 58% used for agriculture.

The Laussabach flows through the village and runs parallel to the main road. At the junction after lots stone -Tern Hill of Laussabach flows into the Enns.

The municipality has only one locality ( Laussa, okz. 11938 ) and cadastral ( Lausa, KGNr. 49310 ).

History

Originally in the eastern part of the Duchy of Bavaria lying, was the place since the 12th century the Duchy of Austria. Since 1490 he is the Principality ' Austria above the Enns ' attributed. During the Napoleonic Wars, the place was occupied several times. Since 1918, the town belongs to the province of Upper Austria. In 1991, the municipality had 1317 inhabitants according to the census, in 2001 then 1367 inhabitants.
