The river system of the Pascagoula, left the Leaf River

The Leaf River is an approximately 290 km long river in the south of the U.S. state of Mississippi.

He is, together with the Chickasawhay River one of the major tributaries of the Pascagoula River, which flows into the Gulf of Mexico. It is historically significant, as was about him at times, as the road and rail network was not yet sufficiently developed in this part of the United States, part of the trade. It is also home to some rare species such as the Yellow Polka Dot hump turtle.

Course

The river rises in the Bienville National Forest in southwestern County Scott County in Mississippi. He initially flows southward through the counties of Smith, Covington, Jones and Forrest County. There it flows together with the Bouie River. He continues to flow through Perry County and Greene County, where he runs along the edge of the De Soto National Forest and then merges with the River Chickasawhay to proceed in the Pascagoula River.
