Lectionary 13

Lectionary 13 (referred to the numbering of Gregory -Aland as sigla ℓ 13) is a Greek manuscript of the New Testament on parchment sheets ( vellum ). Using palaeography, it has been dated to the 12th century. It is also known as 1241 or Colbertinus Regius 1982.

Description

The Code contains lessons from the Gospels of John, Matthew and Luke. This lectionary ( Evangelistarium ) is in Greek uncials on 283 parchment leaves (37 cm x 25.7 cm) described in two columns per page. Each page contains 18 lines with 11 to 14 letters per line.

The Code is very carefully and beautifully written. The first seven pages are in gold, ' vermilion ' in the next fifteen, and the remaining written in black ink. There are also contained images.

In Matthew 23:35 the phrase is υιου βαραχιου (son of Barachi'ah ) omitted; this significant omission is only by the Codex Sinaiticus, 59 (from the first scribe ), two further Evangelist arias ( ℓ 6 and ℓ 185 ) and Eusebius supported.

The manuscript was examined by Scholz, Wettstein, and Paulin Martin.

It was originally kept on Athos. Currently, the Code in the Bibliothèque nationale de France (Fonds Coislin, Gr. 31) is kept in Paris.
