Lectionary 8

Lectionary 8 ( according to the numbering of Gregory -Aland as sigla ℓ 8 indicates ) is a Greek manuscript of the New Testament on parchment sheets ( vellum ). Using palaeography, it has been dated to the 14th century.

Description

The Code contains lessons from the Gospels of John, Matthew and Luke. It is a Lectionary ( Evangelistarium ). It was written in Greek minuscule on 309 parchment leaves (34 × 28 cm). Each side has 2 columns and 28 rows.

The manuscript was written by the monk Kosmas.

Once belonged to the manuscript Colbert, as well as the lectionaries ℓ 7, ℓ 9, ℓ 10, ℓ 11, ℓ 12, was examined by Wettstein and Scholz.

The Code is now in the Bibliothèque nationale de France ( Gr. 312) in Paris.
