Leles

Lele (Hungarian Lelesz ) is a town in eastern Slovakia, with 1786 inhabitants ( 31 December 2011), which belongs to the Okres Trebišov, a circle of Košice kraj.

Geography

The municipality is located in the East Slovak Lowland near the Latorica River near the Ukrainian border. The center is located at an altitude of 112 m nm and is located eight kilometers from Kráľovský Chlmec as well as 13 miles of Veľké Kapušany.

Administratively divided the community in the main town of Lele's and the 1941 eingemeindeten part Kapoňa (Hungarian Kaponya ).

History

Lele was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1190, as here was a Premonstratensian monastery. Well from the 13th century, the place became as a market town. 1828 are listed 224 houses and 1609 inhabitants.

Until 1919 part of which is in the county Semplin place the Kingdom of Hungary and was then Czechoslovakia. On the basis of the First Vienna Award, he was 1938-1945 again in Hungary.
