The Office Lenzen - Elbe Valley is a 1992 formed Office in Brandenburg, in the first seven churches in the former circle pearl mountain ( today Prignitz, Brandenburg ) were combined into an administrative group. By incorporations and formation of new communities, the number of municipalities has decreased on day four.

Geographical location

The Office Lenzen - Elbe Valley is located in the west of the county Prignitz in Brandenburg ( Germany ). It is bordered to the east on the community Karstädt, the city pearl mountain and the city of Wittenberg (all Prignitz ), to the southeast by the Saxony-Anhalt, the district of Stendal, in the south and west by the Lower Saxony Lüchow- Dannenberg, and to the north by the Mecklenburg County Ludwigslust - Parchim. The Office extends along the national road 195 ( Wittenberge-Boizenburg/Elbe ).

Outline of the Office

The Office Lenzen Elbtalaue is currently divided into the following municipalities:

  • Cumlosen with the OT Motrich, Müggendorf and Wentdorf
  • Lance with the OT Bernheide, Ferbitz, Gadow, Jagel, Lütkenwisch and Wustrow
  • Lenzen ( Elbe) with the OT bakers, Breetz, Eldenburg, Gandow, Mellen, Moor, Nausdorf, Rambow and Seedorf
  • Lenzerwische with the OT Baarz, Besandten, Gaarz, Kietzmann, Mödlich, Unbesandten and Wootz

History

The Minister of the Interior of Brandenburg issued on 29 September 1992 its approval for the formation of the Office Lenzen Elbtalaue. The date for the conclusion of the Office October 5, 1992 was determined. At the time of the conclusion of the Office the following towns in the former district of pearl mountain were (from December 1, 1993 Prignitz ) associated with:

April 26, 2002, the Ministry of the Interior approved the inclusion of the community in the city Eldenburg Lenzen ( Elbe), but was effective until 26 October 2003. In a notice dated 22 July 2002, the Ministry of the Interior approved the merger of the municipalities Besandten and Wootz the new community Lenzerwische. The formation was also only at the October 26, 2003 effective. The community Mellen was incorporated in the course of municipal reform in 2003 in Brandenburg in the city Lenzen ( Elbe).

Demographics

Since the 19th century the population of the present territory of the Office is declining. Only those displaced from the eastern territories and the bombed gave the region in the mid 20th century a population boost. For the future, is expected to further sharp fall.

The Office Lenzen - Elbe Valley is located in the Transport Association Berlin-Brandenburg. There to many bus lines. The nearest train stations are located in Wittenberg and in Karstädt at the Berlin-Hamburg route, as well as in Dannenberg Ost on the railway line Wittenberg -Lüneburg.
