Lenzerwische

Lenzerwische is a municipality in the district of Prignitz (Brandenburg). It is administered by the Office Lenzen Elbtalaue based in Lenzen ( Elbe).

Geography

The municipality is located in the same Lenzerwische wetland area between the rivers Elbe and Löcknitz and is the westernmost municipality of Brandenburg.

  • Wootz - the place has about 440 inhabitants Rose Village - the living space is situated on the Elbe River and part of the municipal part Wootz. At the same village with Rose and the Elbe bicycle route. The first written mention of the village dates from the year 1491 Rossentorp. A mention in 1502 named the town Rosenszdorff.

In the 2005 federal election the voter turnout was 80.3 % in Lenzerwische with the highest of all municipalities in the state of Brandenburg.

History

The present municipality was part of 1816/18 bis 1952 Brandenburg district Westprignitz, 1952-1990 to the circle Ludwig Lust in the district of Schwerin from 1990 to 1992 on county Ludwigslust in Mecklenburg -Vorpommern. On 1 August 1992, the independent at the time Besandten communities and Wootz came to the Brandenburg circle pearl mountain, which rose in the Prignitz district with the district reorganization law of the State of Brandenburg in 1993.

Lenzerwische was created on 26 October 2003, the voluntary merger of the previously independent municipalities Besandten and Wootz.
