Leónidas Plaza

Leonidas Plaza Gutiérrez ( born April 18, 1865 in Charapotó, Manabí, † 1932 in Huigra, Chimborazo ) was an Ecuadorian military and politicians and from 1 September 1901 to 31 August 1905 and from 1 September 1912 until August 31, 1916 President his country. Between 1905 and 1906 he represented his country as Ambassador to the United States.

He was a follower of Eloy Alfaro and his Liberal Party, this represented according to its view but not good. His second presidency ended the riots after the assassination Alfaro, but was in turn, shaken by a revolt in the province of Esmeraldas, which lasted from 1913 to 1916.
