Lhotka (Frýdek-Místek District)

Lhotka is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located five kilometers west of Frýdlant nad Ostravicí and belongs to Okres Frýdek- Místek.

Geography

Lhotka is located in Beskidenvorland at the northwestern foot of Ondřejník ( 890 m) in a source area. Due to the location of Lhotecký flowing creek, southeast spring the Olešná and Velky creek, in the south the Říčka. To the south rises the Úbočí (863 m ) in the north of the Kozlovická hora (612 m).

Neighboring towns are Palkovice in the north, Metylovice in the northeast, and Kubalanky Frýdlant nad Ostravicí in the east, and Paseky Pstruží the southeast, Bahenná and Nové dvory in the south, and Kozlovice Jarošov in the west and Myslík in the northwest.

History

The village was first mentioned in 1359 in a document of the Olomouc Bishop Johann Očko of Wlašim about the castrum nostrum Huskenwalde related goods. Due to the large number of hooves goods is believed that the village was founded during the German colonization among Přemyslids.

North of Lhotka an iron ore mine has been operated since the 17th century, which was abandoned in the 19th century. In addition, limestone was mined and also delivered to the Archbishop's iron works to Friedland.

After the abolition of patrimonial Lhotka formed in 1850 a municipality in the district Mistek. After the Second World War, she was assigned to the Okres FRENŠTÁT pod Radhoštěm and since its dissolution in 1961, it belongs to Okres Frýdek- Místek. Vicarage is Kozlovice.

Since 1995, every year in the last week of August at the open air theater founded by the Vincenç Socha in the 1960s Folklore Festival " Sochovy národopisné slavnosti " instead.
