Liberal International
The Liberal International ( Liberal International) is the world federation of liberal parties. It was founded in 1947 and has its headquarters in London. She wants to promote world as an international network liberal and democratic thought. The current chairman is the Dutchman Hans van Baalen.

In Austria, the Liberal belonged to Forum 1993-2011 Liberal International. Prior to the Freedom Party of Austria was a member, but she stepped out because of ideological differences.
From Switzerland, the Free Democratic Party ( FDP ) and the Liberal Party of Switzerland (LPS ) / Parti libéral suisse (PLS ) participated. The FDP came out in late 2008. The LPS merged in February 2009 with the FDP to FDP.Die liberals who through their participation in the party " European Liberal Democrat and Reform Party ( ELDR) ," today's ALDE, participates only indirectly in the liberal international cooperation.
