  • The Romanesque parish church of Notre -Dame ( also formerly Saint- Pierre ) in Lignières probably originates from the late 12th and the early 13th century. In the 15th century the church was redesigned and vaulted; from this period are probably also the lateral buttresses. The west façade has a Gothic portal with steps profiled ribs; the two - despite their more pointed arches stronger the tradition charenteser arrested - Blend lateral portals show diamond factory (left) and vegetable motifs ( right). Above a cornice is to be found within a triple arcade, a group of figures with Mary and the infant Jesus on her lap ( sedes sapientiae ), accompanied by worshipers (probably shepherds and kings ). In the lateral blind arches of Gothic tracery approaches can be identified. Above a medium - rich profiled - Round window ( bull's-eye ), the second level ends in a console frieze with cornice resting. Above this is a undecorated pediment with crosses in the corners of the triangle. The portal has - as usual in the southwest of France - no Tympanonfeld; interior of the church has a single nave and barrel vaulting. The choir has a straight apse loose end and ribbed vaults; in appearance, he is - as can be seen at several churches in the area - by a triangular pediment excessive and thus forms a second facade. The church is entered in the List of Monuments historiques since the year 1973. Various ritual objects and parts of the interior of the church came mainly from the 19th century and are also protected monument.

The church was incorporated in the year 1973 in the list of Monuments historiques.

In the raised roof of the middle section ( logistic ) is sufficient space for several attic rooms that served as staff offices or for storage. In the 18th century, the interior has been redesigned.
