Lior Eliyahu

Lior Eliyahu ( born September 9, 1985 in Ramat Gan, Israel) is an Israeli professional basketball player. He is 2.07 m tall and plays on the positions of a power forward and small forward.

Career

Lior Eliyahu began his professional career at Hapoel Galil Elyon in 2003. Galil Elyon With Eliyahu played in the FIBA EuroCup, and took part in the FIBA EuroCup All-Star Games in 2005 and 2006. In the NBA Draft 2006, he was of the Orlando Magic as the 44th Pick selected. However, it came to no conclusion. He then signed with Maccabi Tel Aviv. With Eliyahu Maccabi won the Israeli championship in 2009 and 2011. In the 2008/2009 Euro League season, he was elected twice to the MVP of the week and the MVP of the month September 2008. In the 2009/2010 season Lior Eliyahu was in the team line-up of the Spanish basketball club Caja Laboral and won the Spanish basketball championship in the ACB league. Here, the FC Barcelona was defeated in the final series in 2010 with 3-0 victories. At the beginning of the season 2012/2013 Eliyahu returns to Maccabi Tel Aviv. With Tel Aviv he was two more times, in 2011 and 2012, Israeli champion and three-time (2011 to 2013) Israeli Cup winner. Another success with Maccabi was winning the Adriatic League in 2012. Lior Eliyahu was twice more, in 2011 and 2012, participants of the Israeli All- Star Games. He was elected MVP of the All- Star Games in 2011.

Since 2007, Lior Eliyahu is an Israeli basketball national team and participated with the Israeli national basketball team participated in the European Championships 2007, 2009, 2011 and 2013. The best result here was the ninth place at the 2007 European Championships in Madrid.
