List of cities in Afghanistan

The list of cities in Afghanistan provides an overview of the development of the population of the larger cities of the Central Asian State of Afghanistan.

By far the largest agglomeration in Afghanistan is Kabul with a population of 3.1381 million (as of September 21, 2006 ). Thus 14 percent of the country's people live in the capital region.

The table includes the cities with more than 10,000 inhabitants, Credited their names in German transcription and in Persian, the results of the Census ( VZ ) from June 23, 1979 and an official estimate of the Central Statistical Office in Afghanistan for 21 September 2006. is also the province to which the city belongs. The population figures refer to the actual city without suburban belt.
