List of Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves recipients (1943)

The following table includes all 863 (including eight foreign and withdrawing No. 157) in the literature mentioned carrier of the Oak Leaves to the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. Minimum award requirement for the oak was the FUJIFILM's prior award of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. A skipping of stages was inadmissible. As part of the award of the Oak Leaves was therefore not again awarded the Knight's Cross, but instead only the oak leaves along with a new collar in a casket and a second piece of the Oak Leaves to the front. In the grade column of the respective rank is mentioned at the time of the ceremony.

Awards Overview

1940

The foundation of the Oak Leaves to the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross on 3 June 1940. The award was extremely economical depending on the valence of the stage, so that in the second half of 1940 only seven members of the Army, Air Force and the Navy received the Oak Leaves.

1941

In 1941, a year after the foundation of the Oak Leaves, this level 50 times was awarded to members of the Army, Air Force, Navy and the Waffen-SS.

1942

In 1942, two years after the foundation of the Oak Leaves, this level 111 times was awarded to members of the Army, Air Force, Navy and the Waffen-SS. This option was denied an April 29, 1945 ( No. 157). The oak was about twice as often awarded as the previous year with 50 awards. In addition, the ceremony also successes in two foreign nationals who were not numbered and are therefore not mentioned in this vintage.

1943

In 1943, three years after the foundation of the Oak Leaves, this stage has been awarded 192 times to members of the Army, Air Force, Navy and the Waffen-SS. It was so unlike the previous year (111 awards ) awarded 81 times more. In addition, the ceremony also successes in two foreign nationals who were not numbered and are therefore not mentioned in this vintage.

1944

In 1944, four years after the foundation of the Oak Leaves, Oak Leaves were 328 members of the Army, Air Force, Navy and the Waffen-SS. Furthermore, it was last awarded to four foreign nationals who were not numbered and therefore will not be mentioned in this vintage.

1945

In 1945, five years after the foundation of the Oak Leaves, Oak Leaves was awarded in the last months of the war 168 times to members of the Army, Air Force, Navy and the Waffen-SS. The last official ceremony took place on May 5, 1945. Overall, the Oak Leaves to the Knight's Cross from 1940 until 1945 have been awarded a total of 863 times within the Wehrmacht and Waffen-SS associations, the consecutive numbering ended at 843. Remarkable are the declining numbers ceremony for Air Force members who had been killed in 1945 in favor of Hitler and the enormous expansion of ceremonies at Army members.

A total of 39 people are affected by falsifying history of the " Order of the Knight's Cross " (ODR). Of those 13 real oak leaves carriers have been (highlighted in yellow here ) with a fictitious award number subsequently provided. 39 people (14 Army, 2 Air Force, 1 Navy and 9 Waffen-SS ) were declared false oak support. Alleged ceremonies on May 9, 1945 are not included in this list because they are without a doubt ineffective due to the unconditional surrender, March 8, 1945.
