A classification of landscapes in Saxony is not feasible in a uniform way, as commonly known landscape names usually represent a mixture of historical and geographical regions objects. To describe some well-known landscape names - for example Upper Lusatia - a smorgasbord of natural areas and geological zones, while others, scientifically proven toponyms are known only in the respective departments of the universities.
Below landscape names are listed in alphabetical order here and both commonly used and only regionally known or used only in science. On a collection of residences or other geographic features will be omitted.
