List of volcanoes in Mexico

This list of volcanoes in Mexico represents active and extinct volcanoes in Mexico according to the information of the Global Volcanism Program of the Smithsonian Institution together (see L. Siebert, T. Simkin 2002). The amount of information may differ slightly depending on the source.

Rain falls in Central Mexico in the winter to heights of about 3000 m as snow, which, however, usually within a few days again largely disappears; a snow cap can be observed all year round only in the mountains above 5000 m. With the mountain peaks below this limit, the snow melts in the spring, but by the summer, completely.
