Loja is a village (Estonian küla ) in the rural community Pühalepa ( Pühalepa vald ). It is the second largest Estonian island of Hiiumaa ( German Dagö ).

Description and History

Loja has 5 inhabitants ( 31 December 2011). The place is located nine kilometers southeast of the island's capital Kärdla.

Loja was originally a Beigut the manor of Suuremõisa ( Grossenhof ). The Hofland is listed in the 1798 Atlas of the Baltic German cartographers Ludwig August Mellin under the name Metsaloja ( " forest - Loja ").
