Lommis

Lommis is a municipality in the district of Münchwilen the canton of Thurgau in Switzerland.

The municipality comprises the towns Lommis, Weingarten and cold houses.

Of the total of 1049 inhabitants (2007 ) 84 inhabitants ( = 8.0 %) foreign nationals.

Airfield

In Lommis there is a small airport (ICAO code LSZT ). This was built in 1962 and today has a 615m long grass runway. Operations, the aerodrome from the Motorfluggruppe Thurgau.

Attractions

Castle Spiegelberg

Northeast of vineyard lie the ruins of the former castle Spiegelberg, which was built by the barons of Spiegelberg in the 13th century. Since 1639 the castle was owned by the monastery Fischingen. It was canceled along with their chapel in 1821.
