Loučovice

Loučovice ( German Kienberg ) is a municipality in Okres Český Krumlov in the Czech Republic. It is located four kilometers west of Vyšší Brod and the river north of the Austrian border and belongs to the region South Bohemia,.

Geography

Loučovice lies on the left bank of the Vltava in Šumava. To the south extends the star forest that was depopulated on Bohemian page since the construction of the Iron Curtain in 1959. By Loučovice leads the state road 163 between Frymburk nad Vltavou and Vyšší Brod and the Railway Rybnik u Dolního Dvořiště - Lipno nad Vltavou. In the north, the 933 m high Luč ( Kienberg ), which is circled by the Vltava river on three sides rises. To the northeast lies the Čertova stěna ( Devil's Wall ) and northwest of the lake Lipno.

Neighboring towns are Dvorečná and Přední Loučovice in the north, and Lachovice Vyšší Brod in the east, Krasna poles in the south, Lipová and Nové Domky in the west and Lipno nad Vltavou in the northwest.

History

Kyenberg was first mentioned in 1361 and belonged to the monastery Hohenfurth.

After the replacement of patrimonial Kienberg was a separate municipality, but which does not belong to the located to the right of the Vltava river districts. Kienberg first portion was a part of Minich shock and Kienberg 2 share belonged to Schoenberg Felden.

Importance was the village by the Ernst Porák built from Trautenau 1885-1886 Moldova mill, which was one of the largest Bohemian paper mills. After expansion, the brothers Porák erected in 1901 on the opposite bank of the Vltava in St. Prokop another Kartonagenfabrik with Kraftwerk and groundwood. For the transportation of the products to the brothers Porák committed together with the abbot of the monastery Hohenfurth for the construction of a railway to connect Zartlesdorf to track Budweis -Linz. Begun in 1909, 1911 and completed on 17 December the commissioning of the electrical path of Zartlesdorf about Hohenfurth after Lippnerschwebe.

After the Second World War, the owner of the factory was expropriated; she went over to the State.

Attractions

  • Church of St. Ulrich, built at the end of the 15th century in place of a chapel built in 1361. The church was rebuilt 1640-1644.
