Lübecker Straße (Hamburg U-Bahn station)

Metro Station Lübeckerstraße is a hub of the Hamburg U -Bahn in the Hohenfelde district. The station abbreviation of the operating company Hamburg elevated railway is " LU ".

Construction

The station is a junction between lines U1 and U3. The two routes each with its own train station part: In the first low level are the two side platforms of the U3 ( tracks 1 and 2). The only access for passengers located at the north end to Lübeckerstraße. West of it is at an angle of almost 70 degrees to the U3 line of the middle platform of U1 ( with the tracks 3 and 4) in the second depth level. Both platforms are connected through a gear to one another, which lies on the level 1. From the U3 platform towards Barmbek for U1- platform of the way therefore leads first through the access building above the north U3 platform - end, on the east side of the U1- platform is reached.

The platform of U1 has at its west end via another distributor basement that leads to the outputs at the crossroads Lübeckerstraße / Mühlendamm / Steinhauerdamm.

All platforms are at least 120 meters long and thus to operate with 8 - or 9- suitable car trains.

The station Lübeckerstraße is located about 800 meters from the neighbor stops Wartenau (U1) and Berliner Tor ( U3), up to the northern Uhlandstraße station U3 is just under 600 meters and the distance to the west of the hotel will take Lohmühlenstrasse (U1 ) is about 650 meters.

The station building, which was made necessary by the construction of the U1, was based on designs by Horst Sandtmann and Friedhelm Grundmann 1958 - built in 1960. It has a pentagonal plan, with the bulges a shallow dome. The dome is supported by only the pillars at the corners. History

The stop at the Lübeck road was already in March 1912 opened under the first Hamburg U- Bahn line, the Ring Line (now U3). At that time, parts of the track at the station were still open in a nick. After the Second World War, the side platforms and route were fully " covered " and are since then in the tunnel.

From 1959 here is the tunnel of today's U1 was built during the Lübeckerstraße the Central Station Wandsbek. For this, the trains running on the Lübeck Tramway lines were moved to the south of it running Angerstraße. On 2 July 1961, the metro could start on the new route to the Lübeckerstraße. Already on October 1, 1961, the operation could be extended to the next station Wartenau, here the trains could be swept into a reversing facility. The station Lübeckerstraße (U1 ) has only a simple platform changes.

By 2009, the section Berliner Tor - Barmbek ring route was traveled by the U2 line.
