Lucca Staiger

Lucca Staiger ( born June 14, 1988 in Blaustein, Baden- Württemberg ) is a German national basketball player who will go to the 2013/14 season for Bayern Munich.

Career

Staiger began his career with natural gas Ehingen / Urspringschule who are currently playing in the 2nd Bundesliga Pro A Basketball. He then moved in 2007 to the United States on the Iowa State University, where he wanted to get his dream of one day playing in the NBA, closer.

On 19 November 2009 the 1.95 m and 95 kg shooting guard could not only achieve his new personal best of 32 points in a game, but presented with ten successful three-point throws in a game also set a new record for the Iowa State University on.

In 2009 basketball national coach Dirk Bauer man became aware of Staiger and nominated him for the European Basketball Championships in Poland in 2009. In a group match against Macedonia, which took place September 13, 2009, Staiger became top scorer with 14 points even the German national team.

In January 2010, Staiger left the team of Iowa State surprisingly an offer from Germany to accept. Shortly after, Alba Berlin announced the commitment Staiger. Lucca Staiger signed by the Berliners a contract of 2.5 years until the end of the season 2011/2012. On June 19, 2010 Staiger was also appointed to the expanded array of the German national team for the 2010 World Cup in Turkey.

After Staiger not it past in Berlin about the status of the makeup player, he left the club after his contract expired in the summer of 2012 and signed with the Neckar giant Ludwigsburg a two year contract. Staiger was at the Neckar Giants top performer and stood in the 2012/13 season on average about 31 minutes per game on the field. After the season, he took the exit option in his contract and moved to FC Bayern Munich.
