Luigi Allemandi

Luigi Allemandi ( born November 8, 1903 in San Damiano Macra (CN), Italy, † September 25, 1978 in Pietra Ligure ( SV), Italy ) was an Italian football player, he played at the position of a defender.

Career

Allemandi started his career at AC Legnano, here he recommended themselves by consistently good performances for Serie A club. In 1925, Juventus secured the services of the defensive player. In the Bianconeri jersey he won 1925/26, his first Scudetto and was appointed national coach Vittorio Pozzo first time in the national team.

1926/27, Allemandi was involved in a bribery scandal. On the final day of Torino and Bologna FC fought for the championship, this met the Turin on local rivals Juventus. In order to secure the title for the Turin, offered some officials of the FC Turin Allemandi of money, so this should play bad and the Torino could thus decide the game for themselves. However Allemandi did not respond and was in this game one of the best of his team, yet the FC Turin narrowly won 2-1. The bribery scandal flew on, the officials of the FC Turin were life-long disabled and the club the title stripped, but awarded no other team.

For the 1927/28 season Allemandi joined Ambrosiana - Inter. Once again, he was appointed to the Squadra Azzurra after Umberto Caligari in a friendly match against Austria misconduct Karl Zischek did not interfere so free on 11 February 1934 that it was able to achieve three goals. This could Allemandi at the Football World Cup in 1934 and came to participate in all five games for use when Italy for the first time world champion.

With the Nerazzurri Luigi Allemandi won his second Scudetto in the season 1929/30. 1935/36, he moved to AS Roma, where he again played initially in the national team before he was sent to a total of 24 games replaced by the young Juve player, Pietro Rava. 1937/38, Allemandi played in Serie B with AC Venice, after one season he returned to Serie A with Lazio Rome, where he end his career.

After the Second World War Allemandi worked as a sales representative in the small coastal town of Pietra Ligure, where he died in 1978 at the age of 74 years.
