Luke Vibert

Luke Francis Vibert ( born January 26, 1973 in Redruth ) is a British musician who produces electronic music under various pseudonyms. The spectrum of his productions ranges from Drum and Bass and drill 'n' bass to electronica up to House. Among his most famous projects include Wagon Christ, Plug and Amen Andrews.

Biography

His musical career began in the Kerrier District, a part of Cornwall, Vibert grew up as a member of Hate Brothers. As influences for his music calls Vibert early hip hop and the music of Prince. Since his youth, he is a close friend of Grant Wilson - Claridge, one of the founders of the British underground labels Rephlex Records. About Wilson - Claridge learns Vibert also know Richard D. James, more commonly known as Aphex Twin. Wilson - Claridge and James offered him the opportunity to release his album on Rephlex Weirs. This early work produced Vibert still in collaboration with Jeremy Simmonds, with whom he undertook early musical efforts since the late 80s. Shortly afterwards he published as Wagon Christ on the label Rising High an independently produced ambient album.

In the following years, Vibert became known to a wider audience because of his constant releases. Followed in 1997 with Big Soup, his first album under his own name on James Lavelle trip-hop label Mo ' Wax. After remixes for Nine Inch Nails and Meat Beat Manifesto already published plug- album was re-released on Trent Reznor's Nothing Records label.

Attention was to be produced along with the pedal steel guitarist BJ Cole Stop The Panic album. The collaboration came about the music journalist David Toop, who had presented Cole Vibert album Drum ' n' Bass for Papa. After releases on Ninja Tune, Planet Mu and Virgin Records was released in 2003 with the Acid plant Yoseph first time one of his albums in the British electronica label Warp Records.

Vibert lives with his girlfriend in London and is the father of two daughters.
