Kerrier

Kerrier was a District in the county of Cornwall in England. At Kerrier included the Lizard Peninsula to the southernmost point ( Lizard Point ) of the island of Great Britain. Administrative headquarters was the town of Camborne. Other important towns of the former Districts are Helston and Redruth. Most people live in the cities have grown together Camborne, Redruth and Pool ( total of just over 39,000 ).

The district was formed on 1 April 1974 and evolved from the merger of the Borough of Helston, Camborne - Redruth Urban District of and the Rural District Kerrier. On 1 April 2009, in addition Kerrier all other Districts in Cornwall were abolished and combined into a single unitary authority.
