Luminița Anghel

Luminiţa Anghel [ Luminitsa aŋɡel ] ( born October 7, 1968 in Bucharest ) is a Romanian singer and politician.

She graduated in music at the Popular Art School and is currently studying sociology and psychology at the Spiru Haret - University.

1993 Anghel won first prize in the singing contest " Mamaia ", 1995 and 1996, respectively occupied the third place. At the international Golden Stag Festival in Braşov they won the 2001 first prize and the trophy for best international song. Also in Discovery Festival in Bulgaria and the Voice of Asia - Wettbewerg in Kazakhstan, she took first place.

She represented Romania at the Euro Vision Song Contest 2005 in Kiev, Ukraine with the song "Let me try ," she recited along with the group Sistem, and reached the finals in third place, after winning the semi-final before. However, they took in 1994, 1996, 1998, 2000 and 2002 participated in the Romanian preselection, but could not qualify for the final round. In 2010 she appeared again, this time joined by Tony Tomas, Adrian Piper and the song " Save Their Lives ". It reached second place. 2013, it increased again at the preliminary decision for Romania, with their song Unique part, but dropped out.

In the parliamentary elections in 2008 she went to for the Social Democratic Party in Bucharest, but was not elected to the Chamber of Deputies.
