Gotthelf center Emmental Lutzelfluh

Lutzelfluh is a municipality in the administrative district of Emmental in the canton of Bern in Switzerland.

Geography

Lutzelfluh located in the lower Emmental, at the Emme between Langnau and Burgdorf. The Emme divides the village in Oberndorf on the right bank and the lower village on the left bank, where the lower village is the younger part of the village. In addition, belong to the municipality Grünenmatt and Ramsei a part of the places Ranflüh, Trachsel forest and Rüegsauschachen and two enclaves: Lauterbach and upper Ried. History

From the time in 1130, the first document in which the Barons are mentioned by Lutzelfluh find. From the ancestral home of the Barons, the village developed. Almost all of today's Emmental belonged to the barony. 1225 is the talk of Lucelfluo.

1230 were the Barons of Brandis in the place of those of Lutzelfluh and built between the villages Lutzelfluh and Rüegsauschachen a castle.

Attractions

In Lutzelfluh is a late Gothic hall church built in 1505 with polygonal apse and a Gothic front tower. It was renovated in 1962. On its south side are the graves of Jeremias Gotthelf, Simon Gfeller and Emanuel Friedli.
