Lyckantropen Themes

Lyckantropen Themes is Ulver's soundtrack for the short film by Steve Ericsson Lyckantropen. He appeared in 2002 Jester Records The End Records.

Creation and publication

The soundtrack was recorded in May 2002 in Oslo and Stockholm and mixed by Ingar Hunskaar in August at Strype Audio. In 2011, a limited LP edition was published with different artwork.

Style

Lyckantropen Themes linked stylistically, to both Silence EPs. So Ulver play minimalist ambient with subtle soundscapes of keyboards and electronic effects as well as occasional use of saxophone and percussion. The nameless pieces follow no discernible structures and are purely instrumental. The atmosphere is bleak.
