Lydia Lassila

Lydia Lassila (OAM born January 17, 1982 in Melbourne as Lydia Ierodiaconou ) is an Australian freestyle skier, on the discipline Aerials ( jumping) is specialized. You win numerous World Cup events and even the discipline rating for themselves, their biggest success is the Olympic gold medal in 2010. Biography

The daughter of a Cypriot father and an Italian mother was a gymnast in her youth and also participated in international competitions. At the age of 18, she briefly stood before it, to qualify for the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, but hand and ankle injury forced her to give up this sport. A little later she learned to ski and decided to combine this with their gymnastic skills. The switch to freestyle ski jumping they occurred relatively quickly. Already on September 8, 2001, she debuted in the freestyle skiing World Cup, where they immediately established himself in fifth place in Mount Buller in the world rankings.
