Magne Lystad

Magne Lystad ( born November 12, 1932 in Lundersæter at Kongsvinger, † 21 January 1999) was a Norwegian orienteer.

Lystad in 1962, the first European champion in orienteering. The then 29 -year-old Lystad pointed at the championships in the Norwegian Løten the Swede Bertil Norman for more than five minutes on the second place on the 16.5 km long route ( straight line ). In 1957 and 1959 Lystad Nordic champion had become and could in 1961 and 1965, winning two bronze medals in this competition. At the European Championships in 1964 in Le Brassus he finished third in the individual competition the 16th place, but was able to win in the relay, together with Ola Skarholt, Per Kristiansen and the cage rotor Stig mountains the silver medal.

1957 Lystad was chosen along with the speed skater Knut Johannesen Sportsman of the Year in Norway, winning the gold medal Morgenbladet. Lystad, whose nickname was Skogens konge, ie, the " King of the Forest ", ran for the club Lundersæter IL.
