The Magra ( in German: The thinness ) is a river that runs through the Italian regions of Tuscany and Liguria.

General

In ancient times the river Macra said. It's name derives from the Val di Magra and flows through the historical region of Lunigiana. With a discharge rate of 60 m³ / s at the river mouth the Magra is the largest river of Liguria.

Course

It rises in the Tuscan province of Massa- Carrara and flows into the Ligurian province of La Spezia in Bocca di Magra (part of Ameglia ) in the Ligurian Sea.
