Mainza Chona

Mainza Mathias Chona ( born June 21, 1930 in Nampeyo, Monze, † December 11, 2001 in Johannesburg, South Africa ) was a Zambian politician, vice president of his country and two-time prime minister.

Life

Born as Sikaye Chingula Namukamba son of a chief studied law and worked as a lawyer later.

After the independence of Zambia in 1964 he was elected a member of the National Assembly and first represented the constituency Livingstone, 1968 by the Mankayo ​​.

Already in the first government of President Kenneth Kaunda 1964 he was Minister of Justice. From 1968 to 1969, he was then Minister of the Interior.
