Maksym Mazuryk

Maksym Anatolijowytsch Masuryk (Ukrainian Максим Анатолійович Мазурик, English transcription Maksym Mazuryk, . Born April 2, 1983 in Donetsk Oblast ) is a Ukrainian pole vaulter. He is a member of the athletics department of Fenerbahçe Istanbul.

Career

His first international competition he competed in 2002 when he won at the IAAF World Junior Championships in Kingston with a height of 5.55 m. A year later, he won in the U23 European Athletics Championships in Bydgoszcz with 5.45 m bronze.

Masuryk competed at the IAAF World Indoor Championships in Moscow in 2006, but failed there in 14th place out of 20 already in the qualification. Two years later, at the World Indoor Championships in Valencia in 2008, he reached the final and finished there with 5.70 m skipped sixth. In his third appearance at World Indoor Championships 2010 in Doha, he reached the same result as four years earlier also 14th in qualifying.

At the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008 he missed with 5.55 m in the qualifiers into the finals and thus took the 16th place, with 13 jumpers qualified for the finals.

At the IAAF World Athletics Final in Thessaloniki in 2009 he won with 5.80 m and 10 cm ahead of his competitors his first international title in the adult area. A year later, at the European Athletics Championships 2010 in Barcelona, ​​he won with his season best of 5.80 m silver medal and was beaten only Frenchman Renaud Lavillenie.

His personal best, which he set up in Yalta on June 6, 2008, is located at 5.82 m, in the hall at 5.81 m ( erected 16 February 2008 in Donetsk ).
