Marco Cassetti

Marco Cassetti (* May 29, 1977 in Brescia, Italy) is an Italian football player. Cassetti can play in defense as well as in defensive midfield and is by its size of 187 cm is very strong in the air. He is currently under contract with Udinese Calcio, however, was the 2012/13 season on loan at Watford FC.

Career

In the club

Marco Cassetti began his career at Montichiari and Lumezzane. In 2000 he moved to Hellas Verona for the 1-1 draw against AS Bari he played his first Serie A match on 30 September 2000. Cassetti remained until 2003 in Verona, 2001/ 02 he went to the club to Serie B from. In the three years he played 61 games for Hellas Verona and scored seven goals.

For the season 2003/ 04 Cassetti moved back into the Serie A U.S. Lecce, where he remained three years. In the following season he managed under coach Zdeněk Zeman the final breakthrough. Cassetti was stract services, reached the southern Italian club to eleventh place in Serie A and recommended also for the national team. 2005/ 06 the descent followed with Lecce in Serie A.

In summer 2006, Marco Cassetti moved to AS Roma, where he has often only a substitute for the strong -back Cicinho, Max Tonetto and Christian Panucci under coach Luciano Spalletti. With the Roma Cassetti won the 2006/07 Coppa Italia and Italian Supercup 2007.

In the National Team

For the Italian national team Marco Cassetti debuted on 30 March 2005 in a 0-0 draw against Iceland under coach Marcello Lippi. Previously, he played five caps for the Azzurri.
