Marcos Alonso Mendoza ( born December 28, 1990 in Madrid ) is a Spanish football player. His preferred position is the left side defense. He currently stands at Fiorentina under contract.

Association

Marcos Alonso comes from a well-known footballers family. His grandfather, Marcos Alonso Imaz, better known as Marquitos, played 1954-1962 at Real Madrid, where he was part of the famous white ballet that won five consecutive European Cup of Champions. His father Marcos Alonso Peña was also a professional footballer, but celebrated his greatest successes at Atletico Madrid and FC Barcelona, where he played from 1982 to 1987 the right of midfield.

Marcos Alonso Mendoza was already taken at the age of eight years, in the youth of Real Madrid in 1999. On 22 February 2009, he celebrated in a game against AD Alcorcón his debut in the second team of the club, Real Madrid Castilla, and in the 2009/10 season he played 4 April 2010 against Racing Santander, the first professional club of his grandfather and father, his first match for the A- team of the capital city.

In the summer of 2010, Alonso moved to the English Premier League Bolton Wanderers, where he signed a contract running until 2013. His first game for England on 24 August, he played in the League Cup against FC Southampton. In his first two seasons Alonso was used infrequently, his major breakthrough occurred in him after the descent of the Wanderers in the second division. In the 2012/13 season, Marcos Alonso fought in the starting lineup and brought it to 26 missions and four goals.

In May 2013 Alonso signed a 2016 contract with the Serie A club dated Fiorentina.

National

Marcos Alonso was part of the Spanish banns for the U -19 Football Championship in 2009, however, where his team was eliminated in the first round.

Others

On 2 May 2011 in Madrid Alonso caused a car accident resulting in death. A 18 -year-old died, three other occupants of the car were injured. Alonso was shown, among other things of involuntary manslaughter, the negligent assault and driving under the influence of alcohol.
