Markus Flaig

Markus Flaig ( * 1971 in Horb am Neckar) is a German singer of voice bass baritone.

Life

Markus Flaig studied church music and music education, then singing with Beata Heuer Christians in Freiburg and at Berthold Possemeyer at the Academy of Music in Frankfurt. Since 2006 he has been working with Carol Meyer- Brütting. He was 2004 winner of the International Johann Sebastian Bach Competition in Leipzig in the category vocals.

For the song singing, he works with pianist Jörg Schweinbenz. He sang the world premiere of an orchestral song cycle to poems by Thomas Bernhard, Franz F. Kaern composed for him.

Markus Flaig performs regularly with the Frankfurter Kantorei on, led by Winfried Toll, 2001 in Handel's Dixit Dominus in the studio of the Hessischer Rundfunk, 2006 in Bach's B Minor Mass at the Holy Spirit Church of the Dominican Monastery, and in 2010 in Handel's Messiah in the Old Opera House. On 3 April 2009 he sang with the choir in Tel Aviv in a concert to mark the 100th anniversary of the city. In the Mann Auditorium was performed on this occasion with the Israel Chamber Orchestra, Mozart's Requiem and Mendelssohn's Die erste Walpurgisnacht.

Flaig sings regularly with the Rheinische Kantorei, conducted by Hermann Max 2008, she led concert programs in which Bach's short fairs were the focus, the Leipzig Bach Festival in St. Nicholas Church, at the Wartburg concerts in Eisenach and at the Music Weeks Uplands, with Veronika Winter, Henning Voss and Jan Kobow. In the Rheingau Music Festival, he joined in 2008 in Kloster Eberbach in Haydn's Stabat Mater and Mozart's Coronation Mass on.

In 2004, he was the Vox Christi ( voice of Christ ) in Bach's St. John Passion, in addition to Werner Güra as an evangelist, in concert with the Camerata Vocale Freiburg, headed by Toll inter alia in the Konzerthaus Freiburg and the Culture and Convention Centre Lucerne.
