Mārtiņš Pļaviņš

Mārtiņš Plavins (born 8 May 1985 in Riga) is a Latvian beach volleyball player.

Career

Plavins was 2004 U20 European Champion and won the following year, both the U-23 European Championship and the U21 World Cup. With his partner Aleksandrs Samoilovs he played at the 2007 World Championships in Gstaad and retired after three 1:2 defeat in the first round of. 2008 Beijing Plavins / Samoilovs defeated in the first group game of the Olympic tournament, the reigning world champion Rogers / Dalhausser and made ​​their way into the knockout stages, where they had to give themselves the Austrians Gosch / Horst beaten.
