Matej Hočevar

Matej Hočevar ( born April 30, 1982 in Ljubljana, at the time: SR Slovenia) is a Slovenian ice hockey player who stands since 2005 for HDD Olimpija Ljubljana under contract.

Career

Matej Hočevar began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the junior section of the HDD Olimpija Ljubljana for the first team, he was active in the Slovenian Hockey League from 2000 to 2002. He was in seasons 2000/ 01 and 2001/ 02 respectively Slovenian champion with his team. Subsequently, the winger moved to the city neighbors HK Slavija Ljubljana, for which he played for three years before he returned to HDD Olimpija 2005. With the club he was in the 2006/07 season for the third time Slovenian champion. After the club was admitted to the 2007/08 season in the Austrian Hockey League, the right-handed shooter right off the bat with his team's runner-up behind the EC Red Bull Salzburg was. In the following years he was a regular fixture in the EBEL team Olimpija.

Internationally

For Slovenia Hočevar took at junior level at the Junior B European Championships in 1998 and 1999, the U20 Junior C World Cup 2001 and the U20 Junior B World Cup 2002 part.

In the senior level, he stood in his country's squad at the World Championship Division I in 2009, the World Championship of Division IA in 2012 and the World Cup 2011.
