Maxim Maksimov

Maxim Maximov Gennadjewitsch (Russian Максим Геннадьевич Максимов; born September 6, 1979 in Izhevsk, Udmurtia ) is a Russian biathlete.

Maxim Maximov took 1999 Pokljuka first time at a World Youth Championship, where he finished in 22nd place in the individual. In 2001 he entered into Ridnaun first time at a race in the Biathlon European Cup. Highlight of the year was the participation in the European Championships in Haute Maurienne, but where he did not achieve outstanding results. Nevertheless, he was able to give shortly thereafter in Oslo at Holmenkollen his debut at the finals of the Biathlon World Cup of the season 2000/ 01. In the sprint race, he finished 40th place. After a three year break Maximov entered 2004 at the European Championships in Minsk. Since the season 2004/ 05 he often went to in the European Cup. His first race in Obertilliach he finished second in a single, more good results followed. In 2008 he moved to the suspended Ivan Tscheresow on the World Cup team. His first race after nearly seven -year hiatus, a sprint in Ruhpolding, ended the Russian 13th and also won for the first time World Cup points. Other point gains followed in the race after that. At the 2008 World Championships in Östersund and 2011 in Khanty-Mansiysk he won a bronze and silver medal in each individual race.
