Mazelov

Mazelov ( German Maselow, formerly Mazalow ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located eight kilometers north-northwest of Lomnice nad Lužnicí in South Bohemia České Budějovice and belongs to the.

Geography

Mazelov located on both sides of the creek Mazelovský creek at the foot of Lischauer threshold in the land Pšeničná Blata on the edge of the Trebon Basin. To the east are the ponds Záblatský rybnik and Stržka, in the southeastern and south of the Krcin Velky and Maly mazelovský mazelovský fishpond fishpond. Towards the south, the forest area extends Velechvínské Polesí. In the northeast, the Nad Drážkami rises (436 m). History

The first written mention of belonging to the reign Wittingau village was in 1446 in a deed of Ulrich II von Rosenberg. In 1840 Mazalow consisted of 40 houses with 350 inhabitants. In the village there were a chapel and maintained by the private school community. Vicarage was Schewetin. Until the mid- 19th century, the village always the rule Wittingau remained submissive.

After the abolition of patrimonial Mazalov / Mazalow formed in 1850 a community Ševětín in the District Commission Trebon / Wittingau. Was a transformation of the townscape, where the wooden farmsteads were replaced with ornate gables farms in rural baroque style between the 19th and 20th centuries. In 1910 Mazalov / Mazalov had 402 Czech -speaking inhabitants. Since 1924 the church has the name Mazelov. With the beginning of 1961 the church was assigned to the České Budějovice in the wake of the repeal of the Okres Trebon. On 14 June 1964, the annexation took place after Ševětín.
