Mehmet Özdilek
Mehmet Özdilek ( born April 1, 1966 in Samsun ) is a former Turkish football player and current coach.

Playing career
Club career
Özdilek began his career at Samsun Ladikspor. He moved in 1984 to the then second division Kahramanmarasspor. Due to its good performance Özdilek had a large role in the rise Kahramanmaraşspors.
His playing style was similar to the Enzo Scifo, whereupon he was given the nickname Sifo Mehmet. Özdilek made with the change in 1988 to Istanbul Beşiktaş his second and final transfer in his career. In 13 years Özdilek played as a regular player in the midfield. In the 1991/92 season he was part of the squad of Beşiktaş, which was unbeaten Turkish masters. With 387 league games and 130 goals Mehmet Özdilek holds the record for the most goals a midfielder.
On August 4, 2001 Özdilek came after farewell match against AC Milan from his active career as a football player back.
National
Mehmet Özdilek played for Turkey a total of 31 games, however, a goal he did not succeed.
Coaching career
Özdilek made after his retirement as a player a one - year internship with Sir Alex Ferguson and Sir Bobby Robson in England. After two short times at Malatyaspor and Sariyer SK Fatih Terim took him as an assistant coach in the Turkish national football team. His post as an assistant coach, he gave up on 24 November 2005. The reason for this was that Mehmet Özdilek was a week earlier involved in the clashes between the Turkish and Swiss team. After video evidence he was punished by FIFA for a one - year ban as a coach.
In November 2008, he became head coach of Antalyaspor. Özdilek was until the end of the season 2012/13 work at Antalyaspor and resigned on 28 May 2013.
In October 2013 he took over the first division Gençlerbirliği Ankara and replaced by the dismissed Metin Diyadin.
