Men's Hong Kong squash Open 2012
The Cathay Pacific Hong Kong Squash Open 2012 took place from 27 November to 2 December 2013 Hong Kong instead. The Squash Tournament of men was part of the PSA World Tour 2012 and belonged to the category World Series Platinum. The Squash Tournament of the ladies was part of the WSA World Tour and belonged to the category World Series gold.
Defending champion in the men was James Willstrop, in the women's Nicol David. Willstrop again reached the final, which he lost to Ramy Ashour at 8:11, 11:3, 7:11 and 6:11. Ashour won so the tournament for the second time after 2010. Nicol David was, however, defend their title successfully. She beat in the final Camille Serme with 11:9, 11:6, 11:7 and 8:11. With this final victory David built their record of eight consecutive title at the tournament.
Participants fields of men's and ladies competition consisted of 32 players each, of which eight starting places for qualifiers. Per Wildcard Leo Au were in the men's and Liu Tsz -Ling with ladies each a starting spot in the main draw.

Prize money and world ranking points
In the tournament the following prize money and world ranking points were paid or credited for each round is reached.
