Michael Beasley

Michael Paul Beasley ( born January 9, 1989 in Frederick, Maryland ) is an American professional basketball player. The 2.06 m wide and 110 -pound PF / SF tweener was selected second in the 2008 NBA Draft by the Miami Heat, after graduating as a freshman one of the best seasons of college basketball history. Currently, he is back with the Miami Heat in the NBA under contract.

Career

College

In autumn 2007, Beasley began his college career at Kansas State University. In the 2007-2008 season he became one of the most dominant college basketball players of the United States. His 26.2 points and 12.4 rebounds per game were the most ever scored in a season by a Big 12 basketball player. He has also seen the most double doubles and games with 40 or more points this season for themselves. His 28 double doubles broke the record previously held by 22 Double Doubles from Carmelo Anthony. On 23 February 2008, he scored a Big 12 record with 44 points in a game (which has since been hired by Denis Clemente ). Beasley holds 30 career, season and freshman records at Kansas State University.

Miami Heat (2008 - 2010)

On June 26, 2008 Beasley was selected with the second overall pick in the 2008 NBA Draft by the Miami Heat. In his NBA debut, he scored 9 points, the rest of the season but was able to play up to a double-digit points average of 13.9 points. Together with 5.4 rebounds per game and a hit rate of 40.7 % from behind the three-point line his rookie season was very solid. He participated in the NBA All-Star Weekend Rookie Challenge 2009 and scored 29 points with the best value for the rookies. After the season he was appointed to the NBA All - Rookie First Team. In the following regular season Beasley played 78 games and was each time on the grid. He could raise his average to 14.8 points points per game, but his hit rate decreased.

Minnesota Timberwolves (2010 - 2012)

On 12 July 2010 Beasley was released to the Minnesota Timberwolves in exchange for second-round draft picks in 2011 and 2014. The exchange should the Heat help save sufficient money to enable them to keep Dwyane Wade and to reinforce additionally with LeBron James and Chris Bosh. November 10, 2010 Beasley led his new team with a Career High of 42 points to victory over the Sacramento Kings. In his first 47 games for the Timberwolves Beasley was every time in the starting lineup and could significantly increase the previous year: 19.9 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game, with the acceptable hit rate of 46.2 % from field and 38.1% from behind the three-point line.

Phoenix Suns (2012 - 2013) and re- issues

For the 2012-2013 season Beasley changed again within the league and accepted the contract offer the Phoenix Suns over 3 years. The season was, however, very disappointing for Beasley, which worsened again and stood in 75 games, only 20 on the grid. He was able to achieve only 10.1 points and 3.8 rebounds per game. After a disappointing season, he was, after he was caught with drugs in Phoenix, released on September 4, 2013 by the Phoenix Suns.

Miami Heat ( Since 2013)

On September 8, 2013 Beasley was hired by the Miami Heat for a year and the minimum salary in the NBA. The Heat have the option to terminate the contract until January 7, 2014 because it is not fully guaranteed.
