Michaelerberg is a municipality with 549 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in the Enns Valley. From 1 January 2015 it has joined forces framework of the Styrian municipality structural reform with the community Pruggern, the new community will bear the name " Michaelerberg - Pruggern ".

Geography

Michaelerberg is located on the northern slopes of the 1,916 m high cooking stove in the Expositur Groebming in Liezen ( district court Schladming ) in the Austrian province of Styria south of the Enns.

Katastralgemeinden are Michaelerberg and Pruggern. Districts are Michaelerberg East and West as well as Michaelerberg Tunzendorf, Moosheim and Pruggern (the eastern part of the village, the rest of the village belongs to the municipality Pruggern ).

Through the northern valley of the municipality performs the Enns Valley Railway. The Groebming railway station is in the area of ​​St. Michael's Berger hamlet Moosheim.

  • Pruggern (120 )

The municipality comprises the cadastral Michaelerberg.

History

The abolition of the manorial system was carried out in 1848., The local church as an autonomous body was established in 1850. After the annexation of Austria in 1938 the congregation to Reichsgau Styria came 1945 to 1955 it was part of the British zone of occupation in Austria.

Coat of arms

The award of the municipality coat of arms was made with effect from 1 October 1989. Coat Description: Black gold of a three mountain growing a Capricorn, surmounted by a balance.
