Pichl- Preunegg is an Austrian municipality in the Expositur Groebming in Liezen ( Judicial District Schladming ) in Styria with 919 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013).

Community structure

The municipality comprises the three villages (in brackets population as of 31 October 2011):

  • Gleiming (152 )
  • Pichl ( 642)
  • Preunegg (146 )

The municipality comprises the cadastral Pichl and Preunegg.

Incorporations

As part of the Styrian community structure reform the church Pichl- Preunegg will be fused (at the latest in 2015) with the municipalities of Schladming and Rohrmoos- Untertal.

History

The abolition of the manorial system was carried out in 1848., The local church as an autonomous body was established in 1850. After the annexation of Austria in 1938 the congregation to Reichsgau Styria came from 1945 to 1955 it was part of the British zone of occupation in Austria.

Coat of arms

The award of the municipality coat of arms with effect from 1 October 1987. Blazon (Coat of Arms description): "On a silver Dreienberg a continuous red, silver grooved battlements, from the silver in a horned black panther with open mouth to grow."
